The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace in Honolulu, HI is a Catholic minor basilica known for its Colonial Georgian and Neoclassical architecture, dedicated August 15, 1843 and elevated to basilica status on May 10, 2014, by Pope Francis. The first Catholic missionaries arrived in Hawaii in 1827 and celebrated the island’s first recorded Mass in a simple grass hut.
