The Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Mobile, AL is a Catholic minor basilica known for its Greek Revival architecture, dedicated December 8, 1850 and elevated to basilica status in 1962 by Pope John XXIII. French settlers established the first parish on the Gulf Coast in Mobile in 1703, one year after the city’s founding.
