The Mission Basilica of San Buenaventura in Ventura, CA is a Catholic minor basilica known for its Spanish Colonial architecture, dedicated September 9, 1809 and elevated to basilica status on July 15, 2020, by Pope Francis. Named after St. Bonaventure, a thirteenth-century Franciscan saint and Doctor of the Church, this was both the final mission Serra founded during his lifetime and one of only six he personally dedicated.
