The Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Hanover, PA is a Catholic minor basilica known for its Colonial Georgian and Gothic architecture, dedicated August 15, 1851 and elevated to basilica status on June 30, 1962, by Pope John XXIII. It was dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and is believed to be the first church in the Western Hemisphere under that title.
