The Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel in Loretto, PA is a Catholic minor basilica known for its Romanesque Revival architecture, dedicated October 2, 1901 and elevated to basilica status on September 9, 1996, by Pope John Paul II. In 1799, he founded the Catholic settlement of Loretto.
