The Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel in Pensacola, FL is a Catholic minor basilica known for its Gothic Revival architecture, dedicated June 6, 1886 and elevated to basilica status on December 28, 2011, by Pope Benedict XVI. In August 1559, a Spanish fleet entered Pensacola Bay carrying soldiers, settlers, and Dominican missionaries.
