The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption in Lancaster, Ohio is a Catholic minor basilica known for its Gothic Revival architecture, dedicated 1864 and elevated to basilica status in 2022. The first small frame church, considered the second oldest in Ohio, was dedicated on Easter Sunday of 1819 by Fr. Nicholas Young, OP , who was Fr. Fenwick’s nephew.
